Art of Departure Eight

February discussion forum in the series, reviewing MAiD and otherwise preparing and caring for and considering physical death, with new and returning voices, edited to under two hours.

Note:
When the nine or so of us recorded this discussion, we had the impression that the expansion of MAiD was put on pause until March 2027. However, there was a Bill C-62 going through third reading in the Canadian Senate (after passing three readings in the House of Commons).

As of February 29, 2024, it appears that the expansion (to include those with a mental disorder as the sole underlying condition for application for MAiD) is, indeed, put on pause until March 17, 2027, with a review beforehand.
