Dying to Meet You
Amanda Achtman is a Canadian who travels the world and spends all her time engaging people on life's big questions as she makes the case that how a person's story ends changes the meaning of every page. She created Dying to Meet You, "a project of cultural renewal to humanize our conversation on suffering, death, meaning, and hope." Amanda works to prevent euthanasia and encourage hope. She worked on Parliament Hill in an effort to prevent Canada's expansion of euthanasia to persons living with disabilities or mental illness.
On Sunday, November 17, 2024, for the Art of Departure Nine, four people joined Amanda with host Lynn Thompson and then two more appeared in the packed hour of ideas, perspectives, and discussion with Amanda. In the half hour after Amanda left, five people stayed on for a cool down, and then two remained for the final stretch.
Thanks to Black Fedora with Sneaky Jazz for the music weaving through the episode. Thanks for listening.
